INNOTEX Center / Intexter has a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) device to determine the microstructure of textiles and synthetic fibres in particular, based on transitions such as the glass transition temperature, the crystallization and fusion temperature, the effective temperature of thermal treatments applied to the textile industry, decompositions, enthalpies of reaction, and determination of the degree of crystallinity. The results are useful to find out the microstructure of the textile and to relate it with the characteristic properties of the material (dye, resistance and shrinkage), or to undertake quality controls and inspections, among other tasks.
